Ruby Rushton (April ’19)

Acclaimed London jazz quartet Ruby Rushton have been at the forefront of the UK jazz scene since the release of their debut album ‘Two For Joy’ in 2015.

Led by Tenderlonious, the group have just released their 4th studio album ‘Ironside’ on 22a, which was recorded in an impressive 2 days at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios.

With influences rooted in the spiritual concepts of John Coltrane and Yusef Lateef, ‘Ironside’ sees the band continuing to push boundaries. A genre-defying group of multi-instrumentalists, Ruby Rushton reach beyond traditional jazz and innovatively fuse hip-hop, afrobeat and electronic music.

Based in London, we’re ecstatic to catch Ruby Rushton on their UK tour, during which they hit Phase One in Liverpool tonight. Support comes from two of our Melodic babes, Kyami and Giovanna.
