Various Artists - Shadeleaf Remixes EP (Shadeleaf Music)
The infamous Shadeleaf Music is set to release a compilation record at the beginning of September. Featuring the likes of Luke Solomon, Bryon The Aquarius, Simba and not to mention a downright moody number from head honcho, Thatmanmonkz accompanied by the all too rising star Al Zanders tweaking things on remix duty. Our standout track on this record without a doubt goes to Luke Solomon for his irresistibly funky edit of “Through the Night” featuring the uncontrollably soulful vocals of Erik Rico. No online listening for this one, you’ll have to buy to try…

Vincenzo De Bull & Halve Soul - Heavy Vibes (Kolour LTD)
Appearing on Kolour LTD’s latest compilation, Vincenzo De Bull and Halve Soul are on remix duty for the all-time funk favourite and Brooklyn national anthem; MFSB - Love is the Message. This edit captures the old school dance vibe created in Brooklyn’s finest danceries, notably the Garage, transforming it into a bouncy jazz infused house number encapsulating the current trend in dance music just right… one track; two dance era’s. Fitting perfectly with the title in place, A Tale of Two Cities, a 14-track compilation releases in early September. Be sure to grab yourself a copy of this release featuring cuts from Henry Wu, Fouk and Ugly Drums to name a few.

Etienne Mbappe and The Prophets - How Near How Far
Debuting his new band The Prophets, bassist Etienne Mbappe pushes the boundaries of Jazz and Funk in all respects. While the front line stands out as unconventional featuring violins, trumpets and a tenor saxophone, each track consistently comes alive with unique energy transfixing you from start to finish. Out in early September on band camp, you’d be foolish not to preorder yourself a copy.
