Introducing the Roots & influences series. A weekly mix showcasing the music driving and inspiring some of Melodic Distraction’s favourite artists and DJ’s.
After rounding off our first year with a Liverpool debut for up and coming Dutch duo FOUK - we were lucky enough to have the guys (Daniel Lesseman and Junktion) agree to kick off our brand new mix series. Our aim is simple, to encourage DJ’s and producers alike to dive into their record bags and pick out some of the more obscure tracks that may never have seen the inside of club. FOUK have done exactly that; an extended hour and a half mix jam-packed full of funk, jazz, alternate house and much more.
The duo’s recognition has without a doubt accelerated over the last 12 months. Appearing on Boiler Room debuts with their brand new EP: Gruff, as well as frequenting many of this summer’s festival line-ups, their trademark sound of funk infused melodies laid over infectiously punchy house percussion is bang on trend right now!
