The Melodic Distraction family circle is growing every day! We’re nothing without the show hosts, associates, partners, friends and, of course, the listeners tuning in each and every day. We’ve got some serious stuff on the bubble over the summer months and beyond, and like a cute lil snek in tropical adolescence, we’ve outgrown our previous incarnation.
We’re looking for people that want to get involved in the behind-the-scenes goings-on over at MDRHQ. Budding producers, live-streamers, event managers and future muso-journos all have a place in our loving arms (and teeny studio.)
We’re looking for folks who want to volunteer 6 to 7 hours a week (mainly evenings) to the station, with plenty of opportunity to grow alongside us and progress in the future.
Key tasks will involve, but not be limited to:
- Coordinating and stepping into an active production role for live radio shows
- Networking with radio show hosts and guests
- Mastering radio shows, ready for re-upload onto our website.
- Having your work featured on the online magazine.
- Train incoming radio hosts on how to make the best use of the in-house equipment.
- Be a great mate and fun addition to the Melodic Distraction Family.
We’re offering full training on the ins-and-outs of what we do, featuring the technical aspects of live broadcasts (from the studio and on-site at many of the events we work with), the processes involved in event management, journalistic endeavours, press and communication training and social media marketing training too. We want to incubate the next generation of music industry professionals and watch the scene blossom in Liverpool, the North West and beyond.
Experience is not at all essential, but we want to hear what radio and musical community means to you. Below we’ve got a form to fill in, so we can learn more about you. Based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, our studio currently houses four members of staff. Whilst our working environment is relaxed, and we frequently work out of office, all team members are hard working and dedicated to making the business as successful as it can be. Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate that they can appreciate the benefits of such an environment.
