Mindfulness Meditation
Presented by LJMU, The Mind Map and Open Culture
Mindfulness is a wonderful addition to anyone's wellbeing toolkit and can help you to be present, calm, clear minded and energised to face the day, and week, ahead.
We're partnering with Liverpool John Moores, Open Culture and Mind Map to broadcast a 30 minute mindfulness meditation as part of LJMU's annual mental health & wellbeing initiative, Feel Fab Feb!
Start Monday with a 30 minute mindfulness meditation session, presented by LJMU, The Mind Map and Open Culture and broadcast on Melodic Distraction Radio.
Airing on Melodic Distraction Radio at 08:30 on Monday 27th February, the mindfulness meditation will be led by LJMU School of Psychology teacher Tony Bennett.
Tony explains that:
"The half hour will begin with a brief discussion of what mindfulness is and how it can have a positive impact on your life, and how, alongside other activities, it can be an important part of a well-balanced, healthy, and happy lifestyle. We will then guide you through a 15-minute mindfulness meditation focussing on the breath and the body."
As with all Melodic Distraction Radio shows, the show will be uploaded after it has aired live to be listened to anytime, anywhere - meaning you can benefit from the mindfulness session whenever it suits you.
Mindfulness is a wonderful addition to anyone's wellbeing toolkit and can help you to be present, calm, clear minded and energised to face the day, and week, ahead.
We want to both thank and highlight the work of The Mind Map and Open Culture for creating and facilitating the idea of this mass meditation session. Click the links below to find out more about these important local organisations, as well as what else is on offer as part of LJMU's Feel Fab Feb!
