Here at Melodic Distraction, we’re delighted to be running a ‘White Label’ campaign with our friends Meraki and brand new Liverpool-based lifestyle brand MACHINE. As the campaign enters its final week, we find out more about the people and ideas behind it.
Machine was born out of a love of coffee culture and music. Founded by a local group of creatives and coffee professionals, Machine seeks to connect anyone who has a mutual love of coffee and music.
Formerly wearing promoter hats as fun party planners Cherry Mango, the team eventually felt it didn’t give them much flexibility to do anything beyond parties. Replacing beer bottles for coffee cups, Machine is a natural progression which brings together different interests, whilst still maintaining musical connections and collaborations.
White Label is a limited edition vinyl run, looking for unsigned local producers to send over tracks. The campaign project is an opportunity to shift those tunes from your desktop to a place of discovery, spurred on by the lack of opportunities for artists in lockdown.
It's open to all types of musicians to apply; bedroom producers, studio nerds, first-timers, self-proclaimed veterans are all welcome. It's open to any genre too, with an AM and a PM side allowing inclusion of everything from ambient to heavier dance tracks. Each artist selected to feature on the compilation will have the opportunity to have their music mixed and mastered in a professional studio. Did we also mention it’s paid?
To find out more about the project and how to submit a track, head to the Machine website. All details are covered there including track length, T&Cs and the selection process. If you want to skip the small print and send your music direct for consideration, email firstname.lastname@example.org with a WeTransfer link to your music.
The deadline for submissions is Monday 26th April, so get those tunes in!
